Jessie Benton Fremont was an outspoken, best selling author and political activist in a time when women couldn't vote. Against the advice of family and friends, she traveled to California in 1849 and took up residence in Bear Valley, a few miles from our vineyard. Her efforts led the way to the signing of the Yosemite Grant Act and the creation of Yosemite National Park. Our Estate Zinfandel is bold, uncompromising, and defiant in the spirit of this extraordinary woman. 120 cases produced. Aged 15 months in American oak barrels.
