2013 Gardner Reserve Cabernet

Cabernet from California

About

2013 is widely considered to be one of the finest years for grape-growing conditions in California in nearly 3 decades.

A warm and dry start to the spring kicked off a year that saw ideal conditions until harvest. Moderate heat throughout most days paired with cool evenings, which were ideal for our Gardner vintage. It was nearly dry farmed at an elevation of 3,000 feet, then aged for 15 months in new American oak.

It is rich and full bodied with solid tannins and hints of vanilla and ripe cherry with the balance and backbone to age gracefully. A 2017 San Francisco Chronicle best of class winner!

215 cases produced, pH 3.7, residual sugar .3g/l, abv 14.4%. Bottle rested for 1.5 years before release, enjoy between now and 2030.
